Job Summary:
North Shore Congregation is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sound Technician to manage and operate audio equipment to ensure high-quality sound during live events, recordings, broadcasts, or productions. This position reports to the The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sound design, audio mixing, and equipment maintenance to support seamless audio delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, test, and operate sound equipment (e.g., microphones, mixing consoles, speakers, recording devices).
Monitor and adjust audio levels during live performances, events, recordings, or broadcasts.
Collaborate with Director of Operations, Clergy, or event coordinators to determine sound requirements.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to sound equipment and implement timely solutions.
Perform regular maintenance and repairs on audio equipment.
Record and edit audio for various media using digital audio workstations
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, especially in live or high-traffic environments.
Maintain detailed logs of setups and audio configurations.
Requirements:
Reliable transportation
Commit to work Fridays 4 PM – 8 PM and/or Saturdays 8 AM – Noon
Able to pass a background check.
Proven experience as a sound technician or audio engineer.
Proficiency with audio software and hardware (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Yamaha, Shure, Behringer, etc.).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing situations.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical ability to lift and set up equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or certification in audio engineering, sound design, or a related field.
Experience in a specific domain (e.g. live concerts, broadcasting).
Familiarity with video production or lighting systems is a plus.
Availability to work both Saturdays and/or Sundays
This position pays between $40 - $50/hour
