One of my client companies is seeking an Installation Specialist that is technically inclined with engineering skills. They will be installing chemical dispensers to clients within the United States. Job Overview:
The Installation Specialist position is responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of the liquid chemical
feed systems at customer locations. A background in electrical/mechanical/HVAC/plumbing troubleshooting
and engineering will be an asset for providing field service. This position involves on-site installation and testing of new systems designed to monitor and dispense chemical products. Travel across the US and based out of the greater Chicago area is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Installation and maintenance – including diagnostics, repairs, replacement – of chemical injection
systems (installing ladder tray, feed hose, low voltage wire, pipe, storage tanks, pumps, etc.) at the
customer site.
Repair or maintain feed systems using spare parts, such as controllers, relays, pumps, low voltage
wiring, and solenoids.
Perform surveys of new customers to determine the requirements for the installation of liquid feed
systems at the customer site.
Complete liquid feed installation form and conduct pre-installation call with installation team
Establish timeline for installation and plan with the Equipment department for shipping of systems.
Working independently and with others to ensure chemical feed systems are installed and operating
effectively to company and customer specifications.
Complete Post-Installation Reports after each installation project
Qualifications:
Positive attitude and work ethic
Self-motivated, highly detail oriented and organized
Effectively communicate in English (written, verbal)
Strong customer service skills, interacting with customer engineering, maintenance and management
personnel
Mechanical/Low Voltage Electrical/HVAC/Plumbing/Pipefitting/Pneumatics experience
Must be able to work on feet for majority of work shift, use ladders safely, lift up to 75lbs
Use common hand and power tools (wrenches, sockets, drills, torque wrench, hammer drill, multimeter)
Read blueprints, electrical diagrams, and schematics
Experience using computers and standard software packages (Microsoft Office/Excel/Word)
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Travel overnight, including weekends when necessary
Credit card with minimum $5k useable credit
Book travel arrangements per installation schedule (flight, drive, lodging, rental car)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bi-lingual (Spanish)
Up to date passport for travel to Canada, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean and Australia
Mechanical/Electrical Engineering experience
Installation of 2”-4” pipe (Schedule 40/80 PVC, Cast Iron)
Understanding of control systems in industrial environments
Understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes
Proven experience in installation/troubleshooting/repairs of industrial systems
Experience using AutoDesk LT/AutoCad/SolidWorks
Scissor lift, boom lift and forklift certifications or experience
Project Management
Personnel Management (2-4 subordinates)
