HIRING: PART-TIME MECHANIC

We’re a local pre-owned vehicle dealership in Plainfield looking for a skilled, part-time auto mechanic to assist with diagnostics and light repairs on used vehicles.
Role: Part-Time Auto Mechanic
Location: 10022 Bode St, Plainfield IL 60585
Schedule: 10–25 hours/week (flexible hours/ shifts, come in and work on your own time)
Pay: $25–$40/hr Dependent on Experience
Type of Work: Diagnostics, brake jobs, inspections, fluid changes, light engine work, basic service and mechanical work.
Reports To: Inventory Manager / Owner
Requirements:
4+ years experience in general auto repair
Basic tool set (We have a lift bay with tools to use but you may need specific tools)
Comfortable with diagnostics across both foreign and domestic makes/models
Reliable and detail-oriented, self driven and self guided
Manufacture Master Technician Certification or 4+ years of Independent Shop Experience
Must have valid driver’s license

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on used vehicles
Perform light repairs (brakes, fluids, basic engine service, minor electrical, interior/exterior fixes)
Ensure vehicles are safe and ready for sale
Assist in evaluating trade-ins or potential purchases
Maintain clean, safe work area and tools
