Position Summary:
The General Repair and Maintenance Service Technician plays a vital role in keeping all rental and business assets in excellent condition and functional. This includes RVs, trailers, vehicles (gas and diesel), generators, and facilities. The technician will perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance while adhering to safety standards and company policies. This position requires working outdoors year-round, including summer heat and winter cold, with some tasks performed in the garage.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance (25%):
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid level checks, and air filter replacements.
- Plan and prioritize maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
Repairs (50%):
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry issues in RVs, trailers, vehicles and generators.
- Replace worn parts (e.g., brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors) and repair or replace damaged components.
- Address body repair needs as required.
Parts and Supplies Management (10%):
- Contact vendors to source parts, compare prices, and coordinate pick-up or delivery.
- Maintain and organize inventory of parts and shop supplies.
Other Tasks (15%):
- Assist with customer and team needs, such as hitching/unhitching vehicles and installing/removing hitches.
- Climb ladders and perform work on RV roofs.
- Maintain and clean garage tools and equipment.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide roadside assistance or troubleshooting when required.
- Prepare quotes and work estimates as requested.
Additional Expectations:
- Keep accurate logs of all work performed and update work orders to ensure proper billing.
- Communicate with insurance and warranty companies for applicable repairs.
- Be available for a fluctuating schedule, including nights, weekends, and occasional overnight travel for deliveries, jobs, or training.
- Provide excellent customer service during inspections, deliveries, and interactions with renters.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills.
Experience and Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience as an auto mechanic, RV technician, or similar role.
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, push, pull, bend, stoop, and work on RV roofs.
- Basic computer skills for email, record-keeping, and software use.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Provide own tools
Preferred:
- Certification from a vocational school or apprenticeship (e.g., ASE, RVIA, RVTI).
- Experience with diagnostics and specialized tools.
- Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
- Familiarity with 12V, 110V systems, and carpentry/woodwork.
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time experience.

Schedule and Work Environment:
- Typical shifts: 8–10 hours (plus overtime as needed).
- May require on-call availability and overnight travel.
- Exposure to hazardous materials (e.g., oil, antifreeze, propane), loud noise, and outdoor weather conditions.
Pay Range:
- Full-Time: $17–$34 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.
- Part-Time: $16–$30 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.
