The small transportation company is seeking a Safety Manager/general office assistant. Flexibility/experience/fluent English.
Flexible hours, could be part-time. Not a remote position. Not for Safety/Compliance agencies.
Responsibilities Include:
Managing compliance with local, state, federal, and DOT laws and regulations
Maintains ongoing carrier insurance requirements.
Updates various compliance database systems with current information on a daily basis.
Coordinates insurance-related activities, including claims.
Ensures DOT-specific safety policies and procedures are managed.
Deals with Accidents and Insurance Claims, Claims handling.
Flexibility to work as needed to answer accident calls during off-hours and weekends.
Assist with monitoring FMCSA scores.
Data Q filings.
Tracks DOT inspections/citations and takes safety measures.
Keeps vehicle maintenance records.
Annual review of driver's records and performance.
Monitors Driver Daily Logs, gives employees immediate feedback, and require corrective action.
Assists with drivers hiring process.
Responsible for Fleet monthly records (DOT inspections, accidents, traffic tickets, citations, etc.).
Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or handle similar situations in the future.
Performs other tasks as necessary.
Competencies and Qualifications:

Must possess strong work ethics skills and be DETAIL ORIENTED
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must speak FLUENT English. Any other language is a plus.
1-3 years experience.
Strong computer skills: outlook, excel, word, and other related programs.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
