About Us
Chicago Chinatown Visitor Center is launching a daytime pedicab service to connect tourists with local culture, food, and businesses in a fun and sustainable way. We're looking for a motivated, hands-on Operations Manager with real riding experience to lead daily operations and team coordination.
Your Responsibilities:
As the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for the smooth, safe, and successful day-to-day management of the pedicab team and program.
Recruit, train, and manage pedicab drivers
Assign routes, schedule shifts, and manage daily check-ins
Oversee pedicab maintenance and daily inspections
Handle customer feedback, resolve complaints
Track performance, income, and weekly reporting
Coordinate with the Visitor Center team and neighborhood businesses for promotions
Ensure compliance with city regulations (licenses, insurance, safety)
Qualifications:
Have hands-on experience operating or managing pedicabs, rickshaws, or cargo bikes.
Must obtain a Livery (Restricted) Chauffeur License from the City of Chicago
Understand basic bicycle mechanics and safety
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Excellent communication in English
Can multitask, solve problems, and stay calm under pressure
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Experience in tourism, transportation, or event coordination is a big plus
Position Type & Compensation:
Part-time or Full-time — both available
Competitive hourly rate or monthly stipend (based on experience & availability)
Bonus pays during special events
