90670BRJob Title:Engineer, Process Automation Project Team - Decatur, ILDepartment/Function:EngineeringJob Description:Engineer, Process Automation Project Team - Decatur, ILThis is a full time, exempt-level position located on-site at our complex in Decatur, IL.Position Description:The Process Automation Project Team Engineer will provide project support of automation systems to focus on company modernization efforts. Through guidance, specialized automation knowledge, and standard work, they will collaborate with Operations and the Technology Center to execute projects while applying global standards.This individual will proactively seek opportunities for automation to mitigate risk, improve efficiency, and drive optimization within modernization projects. Additionally, they will support and advance the standardization and documentation of automation systems.This position will also provide high-level technical support to automation colleagues at the plant level to serve as subject matter experts on the various process control platforms utilized by ADM.Position Requirements:

Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements

Maintain a thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment and operations in the interest of developing, improving and maintaining process and safety interlocks

Develop or modify Automation controls to achieve desired control processes, and troubleshoot systems to identify and resolve hardware or software deficiencies

Recommend the use of company and contract resources equally to support projects deliverables and timelines

Utilize capital project guidelines to prioritize process automation projects from concept through project approval and delivery

Develop and maintain documentation of automation hardware and software related to automation control systems

Demonstrate ability to work well within groups or with minimal supervision to meet department goals

Communicate status updates and suggestions for improvements

Pursue/maintain industry specific training and certifications relative to this position and for career advancement

Demonstrate ability to effectively coach and develop other colleagues

Act as technical lead for modernization of a plants control systems

Work to provide governance and oversight of automation vendors delivering modernization

Possess ability to work in extreme temperatures; must have the ability to climb stairs, lift and move a minimum of 40 pounds, and sit and stand for long periods of time, and should be able to work in confined spaces and heights

Ability to travel as required

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience with process control in an industrial environment

Experience with Emerson DeltaV, Novatech D/3 systems, or Rockwell PlantPAx Distributed Control System (DCS) applications

Familiarity with Industrial Networks (ie. TCP/IP, ControlNet®, DH+, Modbus, etc.) and Operational Technology

Knowledge of Industrial Process Control including instrumentation, AC/DC Electrical systems, Piping & Instrument Diagrams

Ability to troubleshoot, solve, and repair issues with control systems and work safely with and around AC & DC voltages up to 120V

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or another similar Engineering or technical discipline
