83289BRJob Title:Manager, Plant Optimization Technology - Decatur, ILDepartment/Function:Operations: Manufacturing, Production, Maintenance, UtilitiesJob Description:Manager, Plant Optimization Technology - Decatur, ILWet Mill Corn Processing North America.This is a full-time, exempt level position.Position Summary:The Carbohydrate Solutions Plant Optimization Technology Manager supports the Carbohydrates Corn Business Units for North America.This position will primarily support the continuous improvement and optimization of corn plants, while also sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues across ADM’s other manufacturing sites across the globe.The manager will support technology managers and process engineers who will apply engineering principles to optimize existing facilities. They will ensure plant process systems are operated and maintained at safe and optimal levels.Additionally, this individual will help plant operations prioritize process safety, quality, volume, and cost projects and initiatives across the business unit.Essential Job Functions:

Display a dedication process safety improvement

Work within Carbohydrates group to replicate best practices, standardize operations, and share standard methodologies across North American Wet Milling locations; prioritize projects within the plant

The candidate will imbed themselves into the various plant department’s project portfolio through Wave in cooperation with the Plant Managers and Plant Superintendents along with the other Carbohydrate Technology Managers

Assist and provide technical support to various department operations in solving technical process problems; contribute to technical knowledge development and sustainment by engaging in training and guidance documents

Support and collaborate with the various processing departments in setting up goals and KPI’s

Work closely with company subject matter experts, technicians, and operators on the implementation of innovative approaches to plant operation and maintenance

Act as mentor for less experienced plant process engineers and promoting data driven decision making and creating and maintaining mass and energy balances

Required Skills:

Dedication to working safely and to the awareness for the safety of others

Strong knowledge of process unit operations, including (but not limited to) the following: IX, Chromatography, Hydrogenation, Crystallization, Carbon Filtration, Reactors, Membrane filtration, Heat Exchangers, Evaporators, Dryers, Centrifuges, compressors, and Furnace Operation

Experience with process optimization using analytical processes and tools

Experience using communication and interpersonal skills effectively for working with plant engineers, operators, and management

Working knowledge of common process drawings and documentation, such as P&IDs, PFDs, Material & Energy Balances, and control narratives

Willingness to spend time in plant areas – tolerate extreme temperatures, walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders, and move through close spaces

Ability to work effectively on a team, as well as independently, while traveling to remote plant locations to provide support on site as deemed necessary

High level of motivation and results-oriented way of working

Ability to travel with potential overnight stay

Required Education:

Bachelor's of Science Degree in the fields of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Processing, Production Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline

Required Experience:

Minimum 15 years’ experience with plant process production systems

Desired Experience:

Senior Process Technology Engineer with operations management experience is a considered a plus
