The shop supervisor will oversee production efforts and maintain a steady car flow throughout the shops.Responsibilities:

Directly supervise the work force to reduce indirect labor costs.

Communicate and schedule production needs with repair shop and oncoming shift supervisors to maintain work flow.

Communicate directly with work force to capture additional labor.

Conduct morning kick-off meetings with employees.

Conduct disciplinary requirements per guidelines that are consistent with all employees.

Assign work to employees according to their abilities, training and experience

Ensure interior work is performed to maintain a clean container for service before being released.

Maintain and encourage a safe work environment.

Ability to train and motivate employees performing job tasks.

Perform and maintain monthly calibration for breathing air monitor.

Eliminate non-productive time by assigning additional job tasks .

Maintain adequate paint and materials supply .

Understand and comply with AAR, DOT, EPA and Quality Assurance guidelines.

Maintain production and maintenance logs.

Direct maintenance personnel on needed repairs and follow-up.

Maintain weekly production and hazardous material inspection records .

Ensure hazardous materials are maintained and disposed of according to EPA, DOT and OSHA guidelines.

Good knowledge of painting and blasting equipment and procedures

Job Requirements:

5-10 years experience in an industrial painting environment, preferably utilizing pleural component equipment

NACE certification is recommended but not required

General knowledge of the Field Manual of the AAR Interchange Rules

Require excellent command of the following: leadership, problem solving, self-motivation, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Must have confident and courteous manner

Must have established leadership skills

Must have a strong commitment to employee safety

Must be able to hear and speak clearly, read, comprehend and communicate orally and in writing

Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces, and working within extreme temperatures
