Director, National Accounts Retail Sales

As Director, National Accounts – Retail Sales, you will build and nurture strategic partnerships with leading omni-channel retailers, including Walmart and Costco, with a special focus on their 3P marketplace platforms. In this role, you’ll guide a small, supportive team of National Account Managers and Analysts, working together to strengthen customer relationships, align business strategies, and support digital growth.This role is ideal for someone who can Think Fast, using insight and agility to support evolving customer needs; Work It Together, building trust-based partnerships across internal teams and retail accounts; and Make the Hard Call, balancing empathy with accountability when navigating tough decisions.Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.What you will be doingCultivate strong, collaborative partnerships with Walmart and Costco, focusing on both in-store and third-party (3P) marketplace strategies.Lead and uplift a close-knit team of National Account Managers and Analysts, offering ongoing support, recognition, and growth opportunities.Work closely with Channel Marketing, eCommerce, and other cross-functional teams to co-create programs that reflect customer needs and mutual goals.Develop inclusive, values-based go-to-market strategies that embrace the evolving nature of 3P retail models, including digital content, pricing dynamics, fulfillment logistics, and customer engagement.Build trust with key customer contacts through open communication, thoughtful planning, and authentic partnership.Support clear and collaborative forecasting, business planning, and promotional alignment across all retail channels.Champion a team culture grounded in shared learning, encouragement, and a growth mindset.Navigate challenges with care—balancing business needs with long-term relationships and ethical decision-making.Keep senior leaders informed on opportunities, challenges, and performance updates in a way that fosters alignment and transparency.Stay connected to retail and marketplace trends, bringing a thoughtful, forward-looking perspective to everything you do.
