Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Des Plaines, Illinois. The role is central to the accounting industry, with responsibilities encompassing the processing and analysis of financial data, maintaining the integrity of financial records, and playing a significant role in strategic planning. Responsibilities: Analyze profit and loss and balance sheet reports, focusing on sales, margins, and indirect costs to help inform business performance. Develop comprehensive analysis to support the creation of accurate monthly financial statements. Ensure the timely and accurate submission of financial statements following both internal and external accounting standards. Conduct detailed account reconciliations to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data. Play an integral part in the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts, leveraging historical data to project future performance and aid management in strategic planning. Provide variance analysis and recommendations to support decision-making processes. Function as a key user and expert in the ERP system, troubleshooting issues and facilitating effective use. Assist in preparing for and supporting semi-annual financial audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements for a smooth audit process. Consult with auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations to support audit inquiries. Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership and teams across the US to enhance workflow efficiencies, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and promote best practices. Requirements Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant or in a similar role. Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Proficient in managing general ledger and creating journal entries. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required. Experience in month end close process is necessary. Familiarity with Oracle, SAP or other large ERP Must have experience in budgeting and forecasting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Must adhere to strict confidentiality and data privacy standards. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation is desirable.
