Battery Test Engineer - Project EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Battery Test Engineer to support the testing and development of lithium-ion battery systems ranging from 50V to 120V modules, with some applications reaching up to 1000V. This role involves working closely with design engineers and validation test houses to develop and execute test plans, review data, and support certification and compliance activities.Responsibilities

Collaborate with design teams to create and maintain documentation such as Boundary Diagrams and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).

Develop and execute Design Verification Test Plans.

Coordinate test setups and work with internal and external test facilities.

Review test data and provide documentation to support compliance with customer and regional standards (e.g., IEC, UL).

Support the review of customer application requirements and apply them to validation success criteria.

Assist in the development and documentation processes, including creating test plans and supporting certification activities.

Address NPI issues and support design improvements based on testing results.

Travel approximately 30% to facilities in Arizona, Nevada, and other locations.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or similar field with 5 years of experience (internships/co-ops/projects count) or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.

Experience in electrical systems validation/testing.

Proficiency in developing test standards and documentation.

Hands-on experience with battery systems, including battery management systems and battery testing/validation.

Knowledge of data acquisition tools such as CANopy and CANalyzer.

Ability to read electrical schematics and prints.

Previous product development experience (design, validation/test, or analysis).

Strong documentation skills and ability to identify root causes of issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous design or test experience related to battery system development.

Experience with off-road equipment design or testing.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a large office building with air conditioning, which also has testing labs. The position involves spending significant time both in the lab and behind a desk. There is a hybrid work arrangement allowing for a balance between on-site collaboration and remote work, with approximately 30% travel to sites in Arizona, Nevada, and other locations.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $41.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
