As a Security Specialist you develop, manage and administer existing policies and programs to ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental requirements.The successful candidate ensures compliance with existing injury and accident prevention programs, develops cultural change initiatives and programs, monitors compliance, conducts data analysis and recommends preventative actions. The Security Specialist also provides support and guidance to leadership on new initiatives, projects, policy and safety processes at department, area, and business unit level.Key Responsibilities:

Embody our Safety First culture and drive performance in line with the Safety First Framework

Ensure appropriate and professional provision of safety support to the Area Leadership team to ensure safety compliance, incident prevention and safety culture development

Ensure full compliance with all the requirements of Safety Regulations as they apply and actively ensures continual improvement using established systems and processes

Tracks and analyses incident trends and communicates targets and specific recommendations for improved safety performance to Area Leadership

Has oversight of Areas worker's compensation and Auto Liability claims profile and provides updates to Leaders. Supports claims reviews

Oversees job hazard analysis and provides support in developing safe operating procedures

Leads serious incident investigations to determine root cause and target procedural, instructional or equipment changes to prevent reoccurrence

Ensures suitable reporting processes are established and maintained in a timely and professional manner

Establishes and achieves meaningful and effective communicationswith all relevant parties, both internally and externally. Develops good working relationships with all relevant parties

Develop and facilitate safety training

Promotes the DHL safety culture, values and guiding principles

Skills and Qualifications:

Must possess strong leadership qualities and be a seasoned professional, self-starting, analytical and energetic

Must display a confident demeanor always while always supporting DHL values and 4 Pillars:Motivated People, Great Service Quality, Loyal Customers, and Profitable Network

Holds or working towards externally accredited safety certificate (e.g. ASP, CSP or equivalent)

DHL or other transportation operations experience is helpful

Adept at Microsoft Office package

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Must take ownership for all safety related issues and have a “can do” and teamwork style

BS/BA in related subject area preferred and/or 5 years’ experience in Ops environment

Exempt Salary Range $80,175 - $106,900
