Project Engineer - ChemicalActalent is hiring for an exciting long term project in the Illinois Valley area!Job DescriptionThe Project Engineer will be responsible for the design, construction, and startup of various projects at the facility. Key projects include:
Environmental goals – eliminate solid waste to landfill:
Evaluating systems for collection and drying
Tight timeline, with completion needed before the end of the year to enable implementation in 2025
SIS for shortstop on two lines, two of the reactors:
Currently using a toxic material that needs to be replaced with a non-toxic material
Expectations:
Collection, concentration, drying, and packaging of PVC waste streams
Design of an SIS shortstop system for Line 4 and Line 5 – determining capital requirements for 2025 installation
Design of sulfite flow meter system
Compliance with all plant safety, health, and environmental requirements
Working with plant personnel to define project requirements, develop design, and follow Project Management procedures
Selecting and managing contractors to complete assigned projects
Providing start-up reviews (PSSR’s), standard operating procedures (SOP’s), and P&ID development for projects
Hard Skills
Knowledge of design standards (ASME, ANSI, API)
