As a Senior Business System Consultant, IT in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better. This candidate would be the primary BTS liaison to the Center of Excellence, collaborating with cross functional partners, to implement and maintain integrated data, analytics & reporting solutions, enabling emerging business needs.The 340B Drug Pricing program has become a critical issue impacting AbbVie’s business. Originally designed to help safety-net hospitals and clinics give better care to underserved communities, it has now grown exponentially, and become distorted by exploitation and abuse. Over the past few years, AbbVie has implemented important strategies and policy changes to tackle this growth and abuse, but its impact on AbbVie’s portfolio and the complexity of the 340B related issues now require a more dedicated, strategically resourced approach.Therefore, AbbVie has established a high profile, 340B Center of Excellence (COE), that brings together a team of experts who will utilize analytics and insights to drive strategy, proactively address the growth of 340B and create new solutions to the industrywide abuse within the program. COE leaders will work with Government Affairs and Legal to develop longer-term solutions and shape reforms while simultaneously collaborating with essential partners, including the Marketing, Finance, Market Access, Public Affairs and other key partners to deliver meaningful business solutions and impact. In this role, you'll be responsible for:
Works with business partners to understand specific business processes , business drivers and business strategy and tactical initiatives across the 340B landscape across multiple business units; identifies and communicates resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvement that can be enabled via technology; investigates and understands capabilities of existing systems and technologies already in use across the business area and similar and interconnected business areas in AbbVie and investigates available technologies.
Responsible for SLC, internal IT audit and compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Partner with 340B COE to transform data into actionable insights and recommendations. This includes processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis. Effectively communicate results of complex analytical models and influence action to improve 340B Operations.
Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices. Incorporate environment and policy changes into 340B System & data strategy development, by partnering with 340B COE and U.S. MA, Finance functional teams. Identify information required to support the business strategy and lead the development of appropriate information management strategies.
Proactively seeks out strategic business opportunities for the application of new or existing technology capabilities (across multiple business areas) with high-level business unit executives providing key opinion-leading clients with comprehensive strategic analyses and insights to help them discover strategic uses of technology products and services.
Develops, leads, or reviews the creation of information systems strategy to support the strategic requirements of multiple business areas. Identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies. Ensures compliance between business strategies and technology directions. May prepare testing plans to confirm that requirements and system design are accurate and complete.
Develops business relationships within the 340B COE and cross functional partners and integrates activities with other BTOs to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. Manages relationships between clients involved and BTOs to assure effective communication between the groups is occurring.
Brokers services within BTS on behalf of customers; coordinates portfolio of solutions, and identifies interdependencies. Allies with other BTOs to remain current on project status, and inform customer management of progress; conversely, keeps BTS managers aware of user issues and resolves conflicts. Identifies the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations on the organization's use of information.
Establishes and maintains productive relationships with all levels in BTS and with external partners. Acts as a liaison and 340B business process expert to BTOs to assure successful implementation. Serves as a source of information to the service organizations on the business drivers, processes and organization structure and dynamics of 340B landscape.
Has defined authority and responsibility for systems and applications supporting 340B center of excellence, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establishes organizational objectives and delegates assignments. Accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates. Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed business process improvements and the technical solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made.
QualificationsWhat makes you a strong candidate for this role:Required:
Bachelor's Degree with 8 years experience; Master's Degree with 7 years experience; PhD with 3 years experience.
Demonstrate proficiency across a range of technologies related to the integration, visualization, and analysis of large and complex data sets.
Proven track record in leading medium to large workstreams, involving business and technical teams.
Experience with managing teams consisting of onshore/offshore/near shore resources, in a multi-vendor environment. Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams towards task completion. Experience in managing DevOps team using CI/CD tools.
Experience in Snowflake/AWS Hive and ability to write/analyze SQL queries.
Industry experience in master data, metadata, data architecture, data governance, data quality and data modeling.
Beneficial:
Experience in Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI and Tableau is a plus.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
