Service Technician

Job DescriptionThe basic purpose for this position is to service, fix, upgrade, and perform preventative maintenance on coin & currency equipment, ATMs, software, and specialized office products located at client sites in Chicagoland and the surrounding area. The individual will work in coordination with sales and service at their branch.1st shift: 8:00am - 4:00pmEmployees will only travel within a 90-minute radius once becoming a full-Service TechnicianResponsibilities and Duties

Service, upgrade, and perform preventative maintenance on company equipment - Desktop products and smart safes.

Travel by vehicle daily to client sites.

Work with branch employees to satisfy client needs.

Address customer service requests within the specified contract response time.

Extended Hours Coverage periods and ‘On-Call’ duty where applicable.

Safeguard and maintain a balanced vehicle stock parts inventory.

Upkeep and cleanliness of company-issued vehicle, including scheduled service intervals.

Safeguard any company-issued assets, including tablet computer and mobile phone.

Perform all other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Additional Skills & QualificationsMust Haves:

1 to 3+ years of working in a Technical Service/repair position or equivalent schooling

Knowledge of using basic hand tools.

Ability to use multimeters for voltage testing.

Nice to Haves:

Additional years of experience in service/repair.

College degree in a technical expertise or vocational schooling.

Experience in the armed forces (Army, Navy, Marines, etc.).

Qualifications and Required Skills

Required to travel, drive, and be on the road servicing equipment at clients 90% of the time with about 10% overnight travel when needed.

Some long drive times are encountered depending on geographical territory covered.

Available for periodic travel to Corporate Office for training classes.

Able to lift, push, or carry a minimum of 50 or more pounds, such as large money counting machines and parts, in and out of client sites.

The job requires kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting to service equipment on the ground up to 60% of the time.

Hand and wrist dexterity needed to turn screwdrivers and place parts and equipment.

Phone or desk work about 10% of the time doing computer work, bench repair work, parts stocking, tracking service calls, and setting up appointments.

Ability to stand for long periods up to 75% of the time while servicing some equipment.
