The ESH Manager will: This position is responsible for managing, supporting, and ensuring continuous improvement and compliance in the areas of environment, occupational safety and health, security, and fire protection at the Mt. Vernon location, consisting of both PLT and CVT divisions.Follow up on legal regulations and evaluate possible impacts on processes and facilities.  Ensure that all legally required permits are applied for in due time and that permit conditions are evaluated and implementedCheck compliance with legal and internal regulations and implement measuresRepresent Continental in negotiations with responsible authorities about ESH mattersEnsure safety checks/reviews are completed during commissioning of all equipmentEnsure a structured management system of waste, wastewater, air emission and handing of substances plan and implement ESH investmentsImplement and maintain ESH related processesInitiate ESH improvement projectsEnsure the training and awareness of employees for ESH matters to achieve continuous improvement.  Develop methods and provide regular training to avoid accidents and occupational sickness, environmental contamination, and firesMaintain management systems according to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 and internal standardsEnsure all applicable external certifications of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001. Develop ESH concepts, policies, procedures, and work instructions, reviewing regularly and improving as required.Monitor plant specific KPIs to measure performance and provide reporting on corporate / divisional KPIs as requiredConduct risk analyses, and ensure emergency preparedness/response plans are current and effectiveConduct structured root cause analyses of incidents, also defining and implementing sustainable improvement measuresManage & monitor contractors including janitorial and solid waste contractors.Manage the safety awareness and culture of the entire facility in order to achieve and continuously improve ESH goals, objectives and the budget Perform other duties as directed by the Plant Manager.Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.NOTE: May not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed.
