Vernon, IL location is seeking a self-motivated and passionate QA Lab Tech II to join our group.Are you ready to shape the future with us?THE POSITIONPerform lab testing on finished batches of rubber, cements, incoming wire, wire and fabric from the calendars, critical cures, ash and adhesion, natural and synthetic rubber, experimental stocks, and incoming raw materials. Do tool and gauge of equipment and proper disposition of materials.QA Lab Technician will perform the following:

Rheometer and specific gravity testing.

Ash testing of various compounds, curing compounds, and testing for adhesion.

Chilled water testing for pH and adhesion.

Logging of various test data in computer.

Fifo of mixing compound tickets.

Tool and gage (calibrations) of various equipment used in lab.

Curing of silica compounds for testing of hardness & rebound.

TSS testing of discharged plant water.

Housekeeping

Collecting, curing, and testing compounds mixed for compound excellence program for physical properties.

Sampling of bulk carbon black for DBP and Iodine testing.

Sampling of bulk oil for density testing.

Natural, synthetic, and experimental incoming materials for testing.

Proper disposition of acceptable and scrap stock.

Incoming raw materials testing of various types and kinds.

Cement testing of plant lubes.

Operation of various types of equipment for testing in lab - rheometers, viscometers, scales, tensile tester, rebound, hardness testers (etc.)

QA Lab Technician will follow all plant rules, will follow departmental safety and environmental policies, chemicals handling procedures, including being familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets, (MSDS).

A QA Lab Technician will follow work instructions for these specific jobs and perform all work necessary to obtain quality and quantity production.

Perform other duties as directed by the QA Lab Supervisor, Chief Inspector, or QA Manager.
