We are looking for an experienced Manager, Development - Data Engineering to join the team.









Summary


As a Manager, Development - Data Engineering, you will lead a team of Data Engineers within ampliFI's technologies development space. You will possess a depth of personal experience in data warehousing technical components, infrastructure, and integration. You will be responsible for high level design/architecture. You are comfortable leading a team of talented Data Engineers and building relationships with internal business partners and external stakeholders.





Key Responsibilities



Day to day management of the Data Engineering team.

Review data engineering needs, assess talent and staffing levels of team, and make recommendations to Director, Engineering regarding changes.

Management of team capacity, talent, performance, learning & growth.

Serve as primary point of contact for recruiting, selection and onboarding new Data Engineers.

Share your technical and organizational knowledge to mentor junior staff members, including support of internship program.

Conduct regular peer code reviews to ensure code quality and compliance following best practices in the industry.

Provide analysis and recommendations to business stakeholders to support decision-making.

Work in cross-disciplinary teams to understand client needs and ingest rich data sources.

Design and develop quality process and procedures to ensure effective availability, definition, and integrity of data assets.

Utilize Big Data technologies in AWS.

Develop and present professional quality presentations and demonstrations to both engineering and business stakeholders on strategy, design, and project progress.

Participate in process for pursuing innovations, target solutions, and extendable platforms for ampliFI's products.



Required Skills and Experience



Qualified individuals possess the AmpliFI attributes of being smart, curious, committed to vision, passionate, fun/pleasant, an achiever and having a sense of urgency.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field of study preferred.

5+years of big data experience with multiple programming languages and technologies.

3+ years as a technical Lead or Manager of a data or software engineering team.

Strong API development background.

Ability to manage established relationships within the Technology team and internal stakeholders. The ability to interface effectively with clients.

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts succinctly to non-technical colleagues, understand and manage interdependencies between all facets of a project.

Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.

Effective and professional oral and written communication skills.

Must have demonstrated advanced proficiency in complex, mature and sophisticated design and analysis technologies and solutions.

Skilled ability to rapidly ingest, transform, engineer, and visualize data, both for ad hoc and product-level (e.g., automated) data and analytics solutions.

Demonstrated experience using Python

Experience with large-scale, AWS big data methods such as EC2, S3, EMR, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and Redshift.

Ability to work efficiently under Unix/Linux environment, having experience with source code management systems like GIT.

Strong knowledge with programming methodologies (version control, testing, QA) and agile development methodologies.



Physical Requirements



Frequently required to sit and stand.

Occasionally required to stoop, kneel and crouch.

Required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
