Job Summary:The Clinical Services Supervisor of Expressive Therapy is responsible for supervision and oversight of all administrative, clinical, and service functions of assigned clinical staff at various Josselyn locations. Essential Responsibilities and Metrics:

Supervise and evaluate the performance of expressive therapy staff, ensuring compliance with productivity requirements, assessments, and documentation.

Provide supervision for interns and collaborate with other supervisors to train and orientate students to Josselyn procedures and policies. Ensure a thorough understanding of Josselyn policies and procedures among staff.

Monitor and approve expressive therapy staff work and vacation schedules to meet the needs of the Center.

Be available to handle crisis requests for expressive therapy and front office staff.

Coordinate intake functions when the Intake Coordinator is unavailable.

Collaborate effectively with other supervisors.

Cultivate relationships with community resources and actively participate in community-related activities.

Cooperate in performance improvement activities, committee work, and mandatory in-services when requested.

Represent the Center with integrity, adhere to the ethical statement of the Center, and safeguard confidentiality.

Maintain 30% direct service productivity and oversee a caseload of 10-15 clients after a 4-month onboarding period.

Demonstrate proficiency in confidentiality, client rights, safety, infection control, incident and sentinel event reporting, and personnel policies.

Expressive Therapy Responsibilities

Maintaining art rooms and participates in maintaining inventory of supplies in the department.

Ordering supplies when director is unavailable

Be available to travel to multiple locations in Cook and Lake County when needed

Help run the expressive therapy consultation group

Help assist director in developing expressive therapy programs that are appropriate for patients, based on their goals, needs, and preferred artistic expressions.

Supervision of expressive therapy interns and students.

Develops, leads, and continues to support staff therapeutic support groups and or community art projects.

Attend community events and or Josselyn functions when needed

(Other Organizational Responsibilities)

Assist in onboarding staff and interns.

Provide training on CIS functionality and serve as a resource for troubleshooting.

Participate in community-related services as appropriate.

Represent the agency with integrity and professionalism.

Adhere to the ethical statement of the agency.

Manage the schedule, payroll, performance, and employee development goals of expressive therapy staff.

Qualifications

Licenses for independent clinical practice in the State of Illinois in mental health or related field

Licenses for Art Therapy or Dance Movement Therapy preferred

Demonstrate competence in interdisciplinary and inter-agency collaboration

Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive and successful clinical supervision experience preferable in an outpatient mental health setting

Demonstrated administrative, supervisory, and organizational skills

Advanced oral and written communication skills

Ability to think critically and analytically and to problem solve in both short and long term contexts

Working knowledge of best practices in clinical counseling in the field of mental health
