Accounting Manager

Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in Oak Brook, Illinois. This role is particularly suited for those with a strong accounting background in the manufacturing industry. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and support of budget and forecast activities. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes Handle the processing of customer credit applications accurately and efficiently Maintain accurate customer credit records and monitor customer accounts Resolve customer inquiries and ensure appropriate action is taken Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, and more Assist with the management of the financial department, including company assets and report preparation Utilize Accounting Software Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning for various accounting functions Ensure compliance with all internal processes Implement and oversee audit findings to improve processes and efficiencies Prepare and present financial reports and risk analysis.Requirements Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting management role Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning tools Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Ability to perform auditing tasks with precision Knowledge of billing functions Proficiency in using SAS Visual software Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Excellent organizational and leadership skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Detail-oriented and able to analyze financial records and transfers Adherence to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality Current CPA license would be a plus.
