Job DescriptionLocation: Oak Park, ILHospital: RUSH Oak Park HospitalDepartment: LaundryWork Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)Shift: Shift 1Work Schedule: 8 Hr (6:00:00 AM - 2:30:00 PM)Summary:Provides linen and excellent customer service to all departments that require laundry and linen services. Ensures laundry and linen inventory is appropriate to meet patient needs. Assists the laundry and linen department identify issues by communicating shortages, overages, and special requests within the hospital. This individual will promote and be supportive of the institutional ICARE values (Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence), the IConnect Service Behaviors. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Responsibilities: Maintains friendly, efficient positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients and co-workers. Is responsive to customer needs. Conducts linen inventory in each hospital area/floor and ensures necessary adjustments are made in a timely manner. Maintain clean Linen department and work station areas to ensure compliance with safety and infection control regulations. Answer all telephone calls in accordance to the department’s telephone script ensuring calls are properly answered, appropriate actions are followed and in a timely manner. Apply ICARE and IConnect in all interactions between inter/intra departments. Assists in the creation of Laundry & Linen preference information for each area/floor of hospital. Ensures customer needs as well as department concerns are communicated in an effective, customer service-oriented manner. Promptly responds to all customer requests and complaints and follows through to resolution. Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Complies with all IDPH and OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations. Maintains compliance with hospitals standards of operation. Adheres to Business Conduct Policy at all times. Maintains all records and reports to ensure compliance, with all local, state and federal regulation and codes. Performs any and all Laundry job functions as assigned or required.Other information:Required Job Qualifications: One year working experience in a service industry position or equivalent job experience. High School Diploma/GED. Must have basic reading, writing skills and be able to perform non-complex arithmetic. Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks with deadlines to meet changing workload demands. Must have reliable transportation.Preferred Job Qualifications: Familiar with personal computers.Physical Demands: Physical strength, resilience and endurance are three key bodily traits that are required due to the vigorous work pace of daily repetitive tasks and the weight of the merchandise. Majority of work day is spent on feet lifting, pushing, pulling, walking distances on daily repetitive basis. Must be able to lift weights up to 100lbs repetitively on a daily basis.
