Job DescriptionLocation: Oak Park, ILHospital: RUSH Oak Park HospitalDepartment: FacilitiesWork Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)Shift: Shift 1Work Schedule: 8 Hr (7:00:00 AM - 3:30:00 AM)Summary:Manages the day to day operations and maintenance of the physical plant and supports the Director in the administration of the program to manage building maintenance, grounds, and equipment and utilities. Coordinates minor construction and renovation programs. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values, and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Responsibilities:Job Responsibilities: Directs and coordinates the operations and activities of plant/facilities engineering Regularly inspecting buildings, systems, and areas to detect and eliminate fire, safety, health and security hazards Assures compliance with all applicable life safety and building codes and regulations. Maintenance of all required records for TJC, IDPH, OSHA and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction. Operation and maintenance of all utilities systems and equipment in the plant/complex. Completion of operating logs, reports, and records required by federal, state, and local agencies and the company. Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes, statutes, and regulations. Liaison with public utilities. Installation and maintenance of all utilities systems and components for electricity, water, steam, gas, oil, compressed air, communications, etc. Installation, operation, and maintenance of all heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and components. Testing of electrical systems and backup utilities. Management of maintenance planning, scheduling, and work execution. Implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and practices. Coordination of federal, state, local, and insurance licensing inspections and compliance. Training of personnel in all phases of operation and maintenance of emergency response apparatus and fire extinguishing systems. Planning, coordination, and scheduling of corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance programs for structures, utilities, and equipmentOther information:Required Job Qualifications:

5 to 7 years of relevant work experience

Knowledge of engineering and construction principles, practices and procedures, applicable laws and government regulations, principles of management and supervision and procedures and policies of departments and facility. Ability to read, comprehend and transmit complicated detailed instructions orally and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations Ability to effectively establish priorities Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures Ability to use working knowledge of working environment to meet established goals and objectives Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and computerized programs in P.M. Construction, Financial Management and Energy Control.Preferred Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred or related fieldsPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, and talk or hear.
