A CNC (computer numerically controlled) Machinist works with Lathes/Mills which cuts raw materials into functional items. Responsible for interpreting project drawings, designing programs and setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program. Must perform set-ups and make adjustments until the resulting product meets drawing specifications.SCHEDULE/COMPENSATION Monday through Thursday (4, 10-hour days) 6:00AM - 4:30PM Possible OT on Friday and/or Saturday as production demands require $25-35/hr DOE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Modify/update existing CNC programs using Mazak software and manufacturing documentation.
Provide programming support during inspection.
Update CNC programs as needed
Create new or update existing manufacturing process documentation of programmed parts.
Assist with program issues or updates needed on a promptly manner to ensure manufacturing of parts to specification, provide programming shop support.
Provide status to Leadership with updates and documentation as needed.
Work with Engineers, Quality and Production team members on issues that develop.
Work with Manager and Engineering to fixture and design methods of manufacturing complex parts.
Reads, interprets, and follows pass downs, work orders, drawings, and work instructions.
Maintain/Enforce 6S, AS9100, and standards and practices in the Machine Shop.
Ability to handle multiple projects and to meet deadlines is required.
Comply with safety regulations for moving heavy objects and using machinery.
Ensure work areas and kept clean and organized, free from FOD
Abide by DCX-CHOL Enterprises policies, training, and quality and safety practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
5+ years of Machining experience, with at least 2+ years of experience in editing CNC programs
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Experience with 3D modeling in CAD software and experience exporting & importing models is helpful.
Strong knowledge of machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling and tapping.
Experience with MAZAK and experience programming in CAM software is helpful but not required.
Understanding of fixture design, experience in selecting cutting tools and boring lathe jaws.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office and production/machine shop environment.
