Job Title: Operating Mechanic DLocation: Pekin, IL 61755Work Schedule: M - F with possible OT on Saturday; 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM during Non-Production and 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM with ProductionContract Duration: 6 MonthsJob Summary:The Operating Mechanic will be responsible for unloading/loading rail, barges, trucks, basic maintenance, and mechanical needs. Operate and perform maintenance on conveyers. Load trucks using front end loader and conveyer system. What you'll do:
Demonstrate commitment to environmental, health, and safety by complying with all EHS policies, wearing of proper PPE for the job, reporting unsafe work conditions and/or accidents promptly and attending and participating in all safety meetings and training.
Demonstrate positive behavioral qualities such as striving to be a team player, dependable, approachable, and a continuous learner.
Through the progression program, train and demonstrate competency in all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Attain and maintain competency in the following operations positions, to include payloader operator, dry product rail loader/unloader, barge hand for unloading and loading.
Through the progression program, train and demonstrate competency in all maintenance procedures.
Attain and maintain competency in the following maintenance activities, to include preventive maintenance procedures on truck and rail loading/unloading stations, mobile equipment repair, and maintenance of conveyor belt system.
Operate various hand power tools, such as impact wrenches, grinders, saws, drills etc.
De-energizing equipment following Company Lockout/Tagout program
Perform housekeeping duties
Operate Mobile Equipment
Confined Space Entry
Conveyor Operation
General Conveyor Maintenance
Truck Loading
Rail car loading and unloading
Unloading Fertilizers barges
What you'll need:
Highschool diploma or equivalent preferred
1 – 2 years’ experience working in Industrial setting and operating mobile equipment of industrial or manufacturing experience is preferred
Proficient in reading and writing English; comfortable with basic mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
Valid drivers license
Basic computer skills
Experience in mobile equipment repair and maintenance is a plus.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures is a plus.
Proficient verbal and written communication skill, as well as hand signals
Physical work environment is outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.

Able to lift 50+ lbs. unassisted and regularly.
Able to climb stairs and work at various heights.
