POSITION SUMMARY:The Environmental
& QA technician is responsible for monitoring the quality of water samples
collected at the filter bed and plant sources to ensure that water discharged
to the environment meets the NPDES permit parameters. They will perform testing
of water and wastewater samples from the plant and Filter Bed. BOD5, TSS, NH3,
N, DO, pH, CL, COD and Temp. Tests. Prep seed solutions, calibrate instruments,
order supplies, maintain the lab, and supervise the facility Sanitation.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Testing of water andwastewater samples.
Entering data into thewastewater log and maintaining accurate records in accordance with NPDESPermit requirements.
Communicate results and anytrends.
Coach others.
Supervise pre-pack, pack andpost pack clean-up crews as well as daily mini clean-ups. Must alsosupervise cleaning during off pack.
Daily review of Cook roomlog sheet and charts.
Performing and logging testingon raw pumpkin solids of pre-rowed and rowed samples.
Review and update all SOP’sas assigned by management.
Must obtain a K-License andwill be the backup for filterbed as needed or assigned by management.
Must teach and educateothers or proper testing and sampling processes.
Perform all other dutiesassigned by management.
QUALITY:Follow
all required GMP, quality and food safety requirements. In addition, employee
shall notify their supervisor or other designated personnel of all quality or
food safety findings or incidents.SAFETY& ENVIRONMENTAL:Follow
safety & environmental objectives & targets, follow the plant safety
rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately, maintain
compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental
Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.EDUCATION:
High School Diploma orequivalent is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Three to five years of wastewater lab experience and are current withbasic lab procedures.
Ability to complete and pass “Better Process Control School” aftercompleting one year on the job.
Experience working in food manufacturing is preferred.
OTHERREQUIREMENTS:
Willing to workin a continuous operations schedule, where required
Willing to workoff-shifts, weekends & extended shifts (i.e. 12 hrs.) when required
Willing to workovertime when required
Willing andable to use mathematical knowledge, including counting, addition,subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, graphs, andratios as needed.
Willing andable to work with computers including navigating systems, locatinginformation, and recording information necessary to perform the job.
Willing andable to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Willing to workwith Contractors on projects and system design to ensure alignment withCompany processes.
