Caterpillar enjoys the strongest reputation in the construction industry, and in this critical role, you will help to continue this tradition by leading critical machine development programs.The MWL NPI Platform Lead is responsible for global product development leadership (GW Launch – GW7) for Caterpillar's 950/962 machine platform across three production facilities. The MWL NPI Platform Lead works closely with process partners in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, cost management, supplier management and sales & marketing to deliver MWL program goals.What You Will Do:

Global leadership of Product, Quality, Cost and Velocity target setting and execution of 3-4 concurrent NPI programs

Ensure critical customer, market and technical requirements are included in program scope, timelines, and global team workload planning.

Ensure operations, supply chain, and supplier alignment and readiness for NPI program goals and deliverables.

Develop Cat Payload technology across MWL product lines

Lead and coordinate machine performance and testing programs

Lead and coordinate capital investment plans and execution

Help facilitate weekly MWL Obeya meetings aligning global process partners

Candidates typically have a background in one or more of the following: product development, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier management.What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related curriculum from an accredited college or university.

Progressive experience directly supporting a construction or heavy equipment industry product group in a product development, supply chain, supply management or operations.

Progressive experience and direct involvement in New Product Introduction processes and deliverables, highlighting expertise in driving strategic initiatives and achieving measurable outcomes.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely across all levels of the organization, facilitating collaboration and alignment.

Strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, project management acumen, and the ability to lead a team through diverse issues. Must have the ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences.

Top Candidates Will Have :

Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members around the world and align workload to deliver program goals & commitments.

Familiarity with key machine system teams including engines, cabs, upper & lower powertrain, structures, light fabrications, hydraulics, work tools and tires & rims.

Experience with LEAN and Quality Always process and knowledge from other development programs.

Additional Info :

Onboarding for the role will require frequent travel to the Caterpillar Aurora, IL facility.

Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify.

10-20% of travel is expected.

ISE assignments are not available.
