Caregiver needed for adult son (Peoria)

We are seeking Caregivers to provide care for our adult son with muscular dystrophy. He needs full assistance with everything. Basically, anything you would do for yourself, he needs done. He is easy-going and patient person, with a good sense of humor. He is up all night and sleeps during the day. This is not a companionship job. You will keep busy. You must be 18 or older and have your own transportation.

Medical/caregiver experience a plus, on the job training provided for all aspects of the job. He is stable on a Ventilator and parents are always home. Ventilator experience is definitely a plus.

We are located about 5 minutes away from Grand Prairie Mall.

Duties include activities of daily living for example: Feeding, transferring to bed/wheelchair using a lift and sling, bathing, laundry, positioning in bed / wheelchair, giving medications, etc.

Skills: Previous experience with healthcare or assisting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. If you enjoy working with people and have a laid-back attitude, that’s always a plus.

Pay Details - You will be paid by the Illinois Department of Human Services (Home Services Program) and fill out paperwork before starting work. Because DHS is a state agency, you will also need to provide copies of your Driver's License or State ID as well as your Social Security Card. The pay rate for DHS PAs is currently $17.25 per hour through the state DORS program, pay is by check, debit card, or direct deposit (your choice).

Evenings shifts available are Sunday thru Saturday and shifts are 5:00pm to 11:00pm with some flexibility if needed.

Overnight shifts available are Sunday thru Saturday and shifts are 11:00pm to 8:00am with some flexibility if needed.
