This position will serve as a resource to Chamberlain University's students, faculty, and colleagues in accessing library resources through Chamberlain’s fully virtual library. In addition, the Instructional Services and Research Support Manager leads the strategic planning, optimization, and championing of the Instructional Services and Research Support Team.  ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day leadership and management of 3-5 regional librarians responsible for providing library instruction, online reference, and research support as a part of the library’s Instructional Services and Research Support team.  Conduct staff training and coaching for performance improvement and development by guiding team members through performance goal setting, regular performance reviews, and skills planning.  Recognize accomplishments and milestones of library team members, cultivating a collaborative team environment to share best practices.  Coordinate with library leadership to build relationships with campus leadership, degree program leads, and course developers to ensure alignment of library support and materials to program outcome requirements. Coordinate with library leadership and stakeholders to define assessment standards for library services with a particular emphasis on student success, retention, and NCLEX preparation.  Lead and support team members in creating and maintaining documentation encompassing departmental services, processes, and policies.  Use collected statistics to show the impact of library resources and services to relevant stakeholders. Compose and submit annual reports to the Library Director. Create reports on other departmental activities as needed.  Develop and manage innovative services and resources that support the research needs of the Chamberlain community including collaborating with researchers on research projects and offering expertise in topics such as literature searching, database use, resource management, systematic reviews, and scholarly publishing.  Participate in the service activities of the department including virtual instruction, Ask-A-Librarian virtual reference, one-on-one student appointments, and faculty research support.  Participate and lead members of the Reference Department in library-wide projects, including campus engagement, liaison work, virtual instruction, research services, and web content creation.  Participate in liaison and collection development responsibilities in one or more areas as needed.  This position participates in regular shift rotations as needed, including evening and weekend schedules.Comply with all library and university policies and standards.Maintain awareness of professional standards and new technologies relevant to academic library support services to advise on library strategy and service development opportunities that are evidence-based, sustainable, and cost-effective, which will result in improved online learning services and deeper library engagement.  Complete other duties as assigned.
