Essential tasks to include, bookkeeping, payroll, new hire paperwork, accounts payable, reconciling all accounts, assist with grants and donations, create and present financial reports monthly. A Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field or at least 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience or a combination of these. Knowledge of non-profit/healthcare practices an asset. Accounting Clerk Job Description Overview: The Accounting Clerk will manage all our finances reporting to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Your responsibilities will include tracking our organizations revenue, expenses and taxes, as well as producing financial reports. You will also be responsible for auditing our books to ensure records are correct. Essential Functions: Perform bookkeeping and payroll duties including but not limited to ADS, FVCS Community Center, In Home services, grants, fundraising and events. Manages new hire paperwork including but not limited to I9, W2’s, Secure Choice and PTO Able to collect, analyze and compile financial information in a report for internal or external stakeholders i.e. Board of Directors monthly, auditor annually, State as required Maintains and balances all financial records, processing the general ledger accounts, revenue and expenses, reconciling the financial balances of the organization Maintains bookkeeping files Maintains current list of all active business vendors Maintains and installs accounting software and file backup Renews agencies liquor license In conjunction with department heads assist with feasibility studies/business plans for service expansions, donor development and fundraising. Performs clerical and other related duties as required Competencies: Strategic thinking, Problem solving, Customer/Client focus, Strong Organizational skills, IT proficiency, Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements and accounting systems, Detail oriented and able to prioritize, able to work independently and as part of a team, self-starter Demonstrated ability to perform multi task in an environment where priorities can change rapidly Work Environment: The job operates in a professional office environment. The position also requires additional engagement outside of the building i.e. fundraisers and special events. Knowledge of computers, office equipment and social media beneficial. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may spend an extended amount of time attending external meetings and activities. The employee must have a car and willing to drive anywhere within the service area and Springfield, IL. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field. 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience or a combination of these.
