Job Summary
The Assistant Property Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the overall management of residential or commercial properties. This position requires a proactive individual who is knowledgeable about Fair Housing regulations and has strong administrative skills. The Assistant Property Manager will assist in maintaining high occupancy rates, ensuring tenant satisfaction, and managing property operations efficiently.
Duties
- Assist the Property Manager in daily operations and administrative tasks.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of tenant interactions and property management activities using software such as OneSite.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing tenant inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Manage facilities-related issues, coordinating maintenance requests and ensuring timely resolution.
- Support the leasing process by conducting property showings, processing applications, and preparing lease agreements.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers to ensure quality services at competitive rates.
- Collaborate with the Property Manager on budgeting and financial reporting tasks.
- Implement effective customer relationship management strategies to enhance tenant retention.
- Inspect property conditions and coordinate maintenance activities.
- Manage budgets, accounts, rent collections and tenant notices.
- Report any problems or issues to the property manager.
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as an Assistant Property Manager or similar role.
- Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for effective interaction with tenants and vendors.
- Experience in facilities management or legal administrative tasks is a plus.
- Proficient in property management software, particularly OneSite or similar platforms.
- Ability to negotiate contracts effectively while maintaining positive relationships with service providers.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong multitasking capabilities.
- Previous experience in property management or a related field is advantageous but not required.

We are looking for our new Property Mgt Assistant to join the team part time, approximately 20-25 hours per week. We are a property management company, serving owners and tenants.
