The Outcomes Manager reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.The principal role of the Outcomes Manager in Patient Care Services is to assist the patient care team in achieving the highest quality and best possible outcome for the patient in a cost-effective manner. The Outcomes Manager collaborates with members of the health care team across the continuum. The Outcomes Manager demonstrates a thorough understanding of the demographics for Women & Children's Services.  Develops approaches to optimize the equity, effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of resources available to the population both within and beyond the acute care setting.Responsibilities:Coordinates all activities related to the Perinatal morbidity and Mortality Review in conjunction with the Perinatal CenterRepresents CDH on the Rush Quality Improvement Committee. Coordinates the Regional CQI activities at CDH in conjunction with the OB/Pediatric Performance Improvement CommitteesRepresents CDH at the Perinatal Center Administrative meetings and brings all information back and shares with divisionCollaborates with WCS professional development consultants and CNS to ensure that there is a link between mandated education and quality initiativesCoordinates state mandated programs - APORs and Newborn Hearing Screens; facilitates quality improvement initiatives with these programsCoordinates the Perinatal Review for Level III in conjunction with the ACNO for Women & Children's ServicesUses internal and external benchmark data and best practices to establish specific targets, timelines and metrics for improvement projects; provides communication and update on progress Encourages those who identify problems, and participate in suggesting solutions to these problems Supports staff in piloting new ideas and solutions, within or across departments. Recognizes, rewards, and celebrates improvements and staff's contributionsCreates an environment of partnership, collaboration, seamless quality and service enhancement across team, departments and divisions of the organizationDesigns and implements database queries and reportsManages quality and outcomes data (including databases) to respond to customer inquiryProvides appropriate analysis of data as evidenced by customer satisfactionConducts studies/collects data related to the delivery of patient careUtilizes applicable resources and information systems to obtain data and report outcomesCoordinates committees within Women & Children's Services - OB and Peds PI, child protection, etc.Coordinates research and EBP activities for OB and Pediatric units. Acts as a resource to staff for research and EBP projectsServes on hospital/nursing councils and serves as a resource for the WCS unit-based quality council
