IT Security Specialist

Description We are seeking an IT Security Specialist to join our team in Schaumburg, Illinois. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in protecting our organization's systems, ensuring they remain secure and free from vulnerabilities. You will work hands-on with critical security systems, monitor security alerts, develop scripts to automate security tasks, and perform regular vulnerability scans. Responsibilities: Manage and administer critical security systems, including vulnerability management, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and password management systems. Monitor day-to-day security alerts and notifications, working closely with the respective teams to address issues. Develop scripts in various systems to automate security tasks and create rules to identify suspicious security activity. Actively monitor security bulletins and industry developments to stay ahead of potential threats. Perform regular vulnerability scans of the organization's internal and external infrastructure, and third-party service provider systems. Lead security penetration testing projects and validate results from external vendors. Work alongside teams across the organization to address incidents related to the Data Loss Protection (DLP) system. Create and maintain alerts to notify the cybersecurity team of concerns including network equipment, firewall, intrusion detection system, and server logs. Report and log security incidents and evolve key cybersecurity KPIs for the organization. Create security reports and presentations for management. Ensure the organization is sufficiently trained against security threats by managing the organization's security training system. Skills: Experience with Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and Cisco Technologies. Proficiency in Cloud Technologies and Firewall Technologies. Knowledge of AB Testing and Auditing. Familiarity with AWS Technologies and Configuration Management. Expertise in Cyber Security, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), SIEM Tools, Vulnerability Scanning, Security Vulnerability, and Pen Testing. Requirements Proficiency in Checkpoint and Cisco ASA Proven experience with Cisco Technologies Familiarity with Cloud Technologies and AWS Technologies Demonstrated knowledge of Firewall Technologies Experience with AB Testing and Auditing Strong background in Configuration Management Expertise in Cyber Security and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Proficiency in using SIEM Tools Experience in Vulnerability Scanning and Security Vulnerability Strong skills in Pen Testing Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred Relevant industry certifications will be considered an advantage Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
