Del’s Popcorn Shop (“Del’s”) was founded in the 1930s upon a belief that hand-made, quality products can bring joy to the lives of our community. We operate several retail stores in Central Illinois that focus on producing and selling small-batch popcorn and confectionary products to our customers. Del’s is also experiencing tremendous growth in our national distribution center. We are working on a multi-year growth plan to bring more of our delicious products to more people across the United States. Del’s is constantly looking for new talent to grow our production team and to facilitate growth in the business while maintaining the key elements of our premium menu offering. Position Overview:
· The Production Associate with work hand-in-hand with the production teams, shift leaders, and production managers to cook Del’s famous products.
· The products cooked will include caramel corn, vanilla corn, kettle corn, fudge, peanut brittle, among many other items.
· The Production Associate will learn to manage commercial-grade manufacturing equipment specializing in popcorn and confectionery manufacturing.
· In the role, the Production Associate will also maintain a clean and safe work environment will following standing operating procedures.
· The Production Associate will work in a fast-paced environment to meet key production deadlines
· The Production Associate and production team will constantly work to improve production processes and document best practices in their roles
· The Production Associate may work in picking stations to meet demands of out-bound shipments
· The Production Associate will report directly to the Production Manager
· The position is based in Springfield, IL
Maintaining a safe and efficient work experience:
· The Production Associate will follow all company policies and procedures to ensure compliance to food safety standards and health regulation
· All processes will be followed to ensure the work space and facility in general is a safe environment for all employees
· The Production Associate will follow specific operational checklists to verify all safety standards are met.
The Production Associate with keep a clean work area and facility by:
· Abiding by Del’s Popcorn Shop uniform requirements and personal hygiene standards.
· Following all cleaning and sanitation protocols outlined in Del’s operating manuals
· Receiving feedback from managers and focusing on continuous improvement
Meeting the goals of the production facility and all stakeholders:
· Work according to a weekly schedule and be paid biweekly.
· Report directly to the Production Managers
· Accurately record the time and attendance of their store on a weekly time sheet.
· Remain flexible and cooperative with scheduling including being available for evenings, weekends, holidays, special events, and call-in shift coverage when needed.
· Attending daily, weekly and seasonal management meetings to ensure all team members are aligned
· Keep a high attention to detail and document all critical processes
· Work across stores and fulfillment centers to assist with best practices
· Maintain Health Department and other food safety standards
· Track and monitor opening, closing, and seasonal checklists
· Keep a safe and enjoyable work environment for all team members
Production Associate must be able to:
· Stand without discomfort for 9 hours with intermittent breaks.
· Use both hands with dexterity.
· Lift up to 50 pounds without discomfort.
· Use stairs.
This position requires a motivated individual who can step into a high-growth business with a fast pace. We are looking for individuals with manufacturing or food-production experience to be reliable additions to the team.
