Tool and Die MakerCurrently hiring a Tool and Die Maker in the Tinley Park, IL area. Hiring immediately.Pay: $30-$40/HRShift: 1st shift (7A-3:30P)Description:
Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models and descriptions and visualizes product to determine materials, tooling and machines required to fabricate parts.
Designs tooling to conform to customer part specifications.
Computes dimensions, plans layout and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, surface and tool grinders to machine parts.
Verifies conformance of machine parts to customer specifications.
Participates “hands on” in the operation and set-up of forming machines and stamping presses.
Perform 1st piece part inspections before they are submitted to Quality Control. Perform geometric shop calculations.
Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances.
Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures to recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
Rework tooling details and perform skilled fitting, timing and adjusting as needed to develop piece parts that match blueprint specifications.
Maintains records of tooling lists and applies unique I.D. number for company-wide reference.
Organizes and maintains company owned tooling, equipment and housekeeping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Participates in company’s continuous improvement team meetings.
Assist the production department to get automation machines up and running as required.
Remains current with and adheres to standards addressed in the company’s Quality System Manual, Quality Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
