Hours : Monday-Friday, hours vary between 7 : 00am-10 : 00pm. Weekend and holiday rotation
Location : Tinley Park, will travel to other DMG locations based on business needs
SUMMARY
Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by Radiologist, by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum view of specific areas of body requested by physician
Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation
Moves x-ray equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff
Obtain patient's pertinent history
Maintains crash cart
Maintain and stock inventory
Maintain OSHA regulations
Performs Dexa scans where trained
Performs other projects and duties as related to department objective
Must be able to get along with others, to be a team player, to accept constructive criticism from your supervisor and be able to follow work rules
Report to lead technologist for work assignments
Will assist with film quality control. Required to work evening and holidays with responsibility for the operation of the department
Assists and relieve manager expediting the patient work flow through the department
EDUCATION and / or CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six month to two years related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be AART registered or eligible also IDNS licensed
CPR certification
EXPERIENCE
6 months to 2 years related experience
