Position Summary:
Under the guidance of housekeeping management, the Lead will assist with the delegation of multiple housekeeping tasks, training and orientation of new staff. They will have decision-making authority and delegate tasks in the absence of management. This can occur daily but primarily on weekends and holidays in absence of leadership.
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Six (6) months Hospital Environmental Services experience and must complete training within 30 days of hire. At least one year of general cleaning work experience required. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Good communication and time management skills preferred. Must have the ability to read, write, and converse in the English language Must be physically able to manually move furnishings and equipment to facilitate thorough cleaning techniques. Needs Basic computer Skills
Essential Functions:
Assures that all discharge beds are cleaned in the required time frame.
Performs regular housekeeping duties as needed by providing a superior level of cleaning quality in assigned areas and maintains a clean working environment.
Assists Leadership on a daily basis.
Assists in the scheduling, training, and orientation of employees and all floor work.
Assumes responsibility for the shift when no Leadership is present.
Delegates tasks to housekeeping staff under managerial guidance.
Demonstrates knowledge of chemical handling.
Enforce and comply with the correct use of chemicals and equipment as trained.
Has authority to make decisions in the absence of Leadership.
Has knowledge of all job procedures and is able to operate all housekeeping equipment.
Monitor staff in the areas they are assigned.
Orients and trains staff when asked ' gives input into the three month evaluation based on the training and experience the new staff member has shown.
Performs crisis management in the absence of Leadership.
Report to Leadership any unsatisfactory performance or behavior.
Reports maintenance problems to maintenance department via work orders.
Cleans equipment and notifies leadership of equipment needing repair.
Completes required annual training modules.
Follows written department goals and objectives, and review annually with department leadership.
