DescriptionThis position allows for a hybrid work schedule, with three days in our Warrenville, IL office and two days from home. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Draft, assemble and issue request for proposal (RFP) packages to suppliers / subcontractors

Expedite suppliers / subcontractors / engineering input, as appropriate

Support S&L clients in their procurement processes

Evaluate proposals from suppliers / subcontractors

Perform risk assessments on potential and existing subcontracts

Negotiate and finalize terms and conditions, including those related to indemnities, warranties, liabilities, pricing, schedule, etc.

Create purchase orders in S&L’s internal vender management systems

Manage and administer the subcontract life cycle process for assigned projects

Monitor and evaluate contract performance

Record keeping / document control with audit involvement

Processing vendor invoices for payment

Coordinate and work closely with engineering project managers, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors and client personnel

QualificationsWe do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Essential skills and experience:

Bachelor Degree

Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and/or contract administration

Strong written, verbal, & people communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with project managers, engineers, clients, suppliers and contractors as necessary

MS Office Suite proficiency

Valued but not required skills and experience:

Power industry experience supporting large power generation, substation or transmission line projects

CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and/or C.P.M (Certified Purchasing Manager) designation

Experience with Deltek Costpoint and MS Outlook
