This role will have multiple responsibilities tied to AAR Digital Services core mission, enabling the digital transformation of our business units and establishing new revenue streams.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The initial responsibility of this role is to assist with the build out of our customer engagement portal for parts, programs and services as well as help to productize existing assets along our Aviation Supply Chain offering and repairs management.
The software engineer will:
Support Sr. Software Engineers & Analysts for internal and external facing digital projects
Develop to specifications articulated by IT architects and business analysts
Support business and product management teams to design, build, and maintain a robust platform and required interfaces for real time data and transaction processing
Support the evaluation of emerging technologies and usage of platform components
Work independently as part of an Agile SCRUM team, balancing the need for rapid delivery with the sustainability of developed applications
Ensure success of application performance by coding to best practices, meeting enterprise-class non-functional requirements such as performance, availability, and scalability.
Support go-to-market activities and customer adoption

The ideal candidate will have expertise working in Agile Software Development teams, participating in groups of other Software Engineers and Analysts to define, build, and test robust software.
The right candidate will have a passion for breaking down barriers to generate a high impact user experience and drive required content.
Experience and enthusiasm for aviation is a definite plus.
2 years or more of relevant software development experience
Bachelors degree preferred in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Awareness of Service Oriented Architecture and use of cloud-based, software-defined infrastructure
Experience with Java, JavaScript and related coding languages (Node.js, angular, etc.)
Knowledge of web design technologies, such as HTML, CSS, XML, SOAP and REST
Knowledge of modern database and/or application development frameworks (Oracle Preferred)
Experience with Salesforce and Force.com platform capabilities is preferred
Energetic, doer with strong communications, writing and quantitative skills
Strong customer orientation and problem solving skills
