The Medical Assistant supports the operation of the Residential Group Home department by prioritizing and coordinating client medical appointments, transporting and accompanying clients to appointments, providing direct care as needed, participating in the on-call rotation, liaising with the Residential Nurse and healthcare providers, and maintaining accurate documentation and filing of appointment records.This position does not require a Medical Assistant certification.DUTIES:Facilitate interagency communication, including collaboration with Day Rehabilitation Services, to ensure client needs are met.Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, and completing forms as needed.Prioritize, coordinate, and schedule client medical appointments based on urgency and client needs; routinely transport and accompany clients to appointments and other necessary locations.Provide direct care and support to clients as assigned or needed, including assistance with daily living activities, health and safety needs, and implementation of individual support plans.Participate in the Residential Services on-call rotation and respond to calls, urgent needs, and emergencies in accordance with agency procedures.Administer client medications as required.Maintain both manual and electronic filing systems.Collaborate with the Residential Nurse to ensure appointments and health needs comply with ICF/IDD regulations.Prepare and document appointment details, ensuring proper follow-up on health care needs in coordination with the Residential Nurse.Perform additional duties as assigned to support the agency and the well-being of residents/clients.
