We’re seeking an Underground Utility Locator to join our team. This position involves locating underground power and fiber lines, ensuring the safety of our infrastructure, and collaborating with customers and other utility locators. If you’re detail-oriented, skilled with mapping, and passionate about providing excellent service, this role is for you!Key ResponsibilitiesUse underground locating equipment to mark power and fiber lines.Interpret maps and record changes for future reference.Plan daily routes to maximize efficiency and productivity.Maintain communication with the locating team and follow Indiana Underground Plant Protection Service (IUPPS) guidelines.Interact with customers to clarify specific locating instructions.Additional DutiesMaintain vehicles and equipment, including software updates.Investigate mistakes or damages as needed.May potentially serve as on-call locator for the department.Locate underground faults when required.
