DescriptionSAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician IV in Bedford, IN to support the U.S. Navy. This position will need someone familiar with the Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Communications Platform and the related software, knows e-mail etiquette and can communicate with both CIV and CTR. This position is perfect for someone that is organized and willing to work in small teams and with government oversight.Job duties include but are not limited to:
Using hand tools and power tools to assemble according to engineering drawings.
Loading and unloading semi-trucks of large equipment and pallets and using a forklift or other material handling equipment to move systems and pallets
Leading small teams with delegating tasking, checking work, performing performance reviews and documenting completed work in work cards, processes, and reporting to program manager and government task lead
Performing tasking such as integration of system components, modifications to systems, and training team members on how to complete the tasking in a safe and effective manner
Analyzing and implementing procedures and processes for the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the programs/projects
Using technical manuals related to equipment being installed to perform basic operational testing
Engineering Change Proposal development for new equipment and systems upgrade.
Wiring system to schematics and engineering drawings and testing of electrical circuits.
Maintaining inventory of equipment and material related to program and reporting status back to project team
Developing work cards and assisting with processes for integration and production of tactical systems.
QualificationsREQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma and 4+ years of experience
Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; not needed to start
Must be a U.S. citizen
Construction or mechanical assembly experience
Experience using hand tools and power tools
Must be proficient at reading and understanding technical manuals related to equipment being installed and being able to perform basic operational testing
Must be proficient at reading and understanding engineering drawings and wiring diagrams for system integration and assemblies.
Must have the knowledge of software and communication platforms in the TACP community to test and integrate systems according to technical manuals, Software User Manuals, Software Operators Manuals, and engineering drawings.
Must have knowledge of all technical documentation, specifications, standards, procedures, technical/engineering reference books, tests, and publications for integration, testing, and fielding of tactical systems.
Experience using Microsoft Outlook, specifically the voting function
Must be willing to travel 10% of time for ECP updates and fielding/training events at Air Force bases both CONUS and OCONUS.
Must have a valid U.S. passport
