We are looking for new staff for our organization.
We are a charitable public health organization that is focused on promoting healthy animal companionships.
While we offer consultation and assistance with many species, we specifically use cats as our target species to collect data and cat owners are our target group for education and awareness.
This job is not easy. There are long hours, overwhelming need, and problems like you have never seen before. We see the worst of it. Our job is to assist everyone in need of help. You will learn to identify hoarding and how to assist people when they get in over their head. This job is not for the "faint of heart" or anyone with physical limitations. You should be able to stand for 12 hours and lift up to 70 pounds. Overnight travel is helpful but not required. If you do not have a good driving record then it does not preclude you from working for us but it does limit how far you can advance. Starting positions and salary vary with experience. However, we do offer on the job training. The most important skills, (after being a cat lover of course) is a positive mental attitude and a genuine desire to help those in need. So if this job interests you but you have no experience, it is still possible to work with us, we can teach you.
We will also hire high school students (under 18) with consent.
We will hold an informational meeting this Friday, May 17 at 3 pm. in Bloomington. This meeting is intended to give you an overview of our organization and a detailed description of the positions we have available. There will be refreshments available.
