Overall Purpose and Objective of Position:This safety sensitive position maintains and repairs operating equipment for a soybean crushing and biodiesel plant. Primary function is to ensure that the machinery and equipment in the plant remain in good working order to optimize plant productivity and efficiencies. Responsible for complying with all applicable Company standards and government regulations. Maintenance responsibilities include project and outage work. This position may also be responsible for activities related to Pipefitting and Millwright/Fabrication.Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Maintains and repairs operating equipment, including removal, installation, rebuilding, lubrication and cleaning of all equipment associated with the production processWelds, torches, cuts, fabricates, and pipe threadingMaintains utility equipment, diesel fire pumps, locomotives, rail tracks, and other associated equipmentPerforms basic instrument replacement and basic electrical workLearns plant process and procedures for plant start-up, shut-down and operations for better understanding of how equipment is utilizedEnsures orderly shift change by communicating with outgoing operations staff with respect to maintenance problems or other ongoing issues and/or tasks
