Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling, installing, and repairing door systems which consists of doors, frames and hardware. This position will perform all stages of the picking, packaging, delivering, and assembly process and will be required to use welding equipment, power tools and other basic hand tools. Primary Duties and Responsibilities In-House Assembly (20%) Pulling of orders for doors and frames. Review work orders to ensure door frame assembly is completed in accordance with specifications and conduct quality checks on products and parts. Package finished products and prepare them for shipment following proper crating and skidding procedure. Cut and install Lite Kits in doors as required by customer order. Assembly of hardware to doors when needed. Perform various other tasks such as welding of door frames, grinding, prime and touch up door paint. Welding (5%) Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, rulers and templates to meet project specifications. Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. Perform additional duties/projects as assigned by Manager. Keying (30%) Rekey and pin locks. Set up, key cutting equipment or key duplicating as needed. Disassemble and assemble locks, and repair or replace pins, springs, and other parts, using hand tools. Package finished products and prepare them for shipment, including labeling of product. Perform various other tasks as related to this department. Picker, Packer, Shipping/Receiving (45%) Repackage or reassemble door, frame, and hardware products to fulfill customer orders. Mark and label products. Pick other products on customer order pick list. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Assemble cartons and crates. May involve use of hand tools. Record product, packaging, and order information on shipping forms. Manually or mechanically unload, inspect, count, and label materials when received. Perform physical inventory counts. Operate propane powered forklift and manual pallet jacks to transport materials within the warehouse. Make deliveries to local customers. Education and Experience Profile High School Diploma or GED is required Minimum 5 years clean driving record 2-3 years prior experience driving a 20’ Flat bed truck. Non-CDL. Company paid DOT Physical required. Required Skills 1-2 years experience working in manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred. Prior experience using MIG welding technique is preferred. Familiar with raw materials and production processes Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted. Ability to use and read a tape measure is required. Work Environment: Working conditions are normal for a non-climate controlled warehouse environment. Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, pulling, reaching, and stooping. Must observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices, including PPE requirements.
