Pillar Innovations is now accepting applications and resumes for an experienced full-time Field Technicianwith a focus on Fire Suppression. The Field Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing, servicing, repairing and maintenance on fire suppression, detection and alarm systems in underground facilities. This position works within a wide range of industries and applications to include but not be limited to: energy, commercial and industrial. This position is customer-driven and candidates must be flexible and willing to work extended hours. This position will require travel to customer sites with some over-night/out-of-town stay and some emergency call-out work.

Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, test and repair fire detection and suppression systems.

Troubleshoot electronic fire alarm, detection and suppression equipment at customer sites.

Read and interpret blue prints, diagrams, submittals, specification, schematics and operational product manuals

Perform programming on fire alarm system networks and fire alarm panels.

Prepare associated paperwork and forms for customer service and project activities in a timely manner as required.

Communicate with Project Managers and Project Engineers for daily duties.

Proactively assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Respond to trouble calls and emergency service calls on an on-call basis as necessary to meet customer needs.

Ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction

Must be willing to travel and work a flexible work schedule including Saturday and Sunday

Qualifications

3+ years of plumbing experience on fire suppression systems including wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, deluge and fixed fire extinguishing systems preferred.

Ability to work underground for extended periods of time.

Possess a thorough understanding of the principles of fire alarm protection and fire alarm systems.

Technical/mechanical knowledge and abilities.

Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA 25

Understanding and knowledge of electric and diesel fire pumps

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.

Must be willing to attend training and remain updated with regard to industry standards and requirements.

Possess a thorough understanding of the principles of fire alarm protection and fire alarm systems.

MSHA 40-hour underground training required.

Underground mining experience is a plus but not required.
