Collections Specialist

Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the Security industry, based in FISHERS, Indiana. In this role, you will be tasked with maintaining and updating customer payment records, resolving account discrepancies, and handling collections in accordance with established procedures.Responsibilities: Efficiently process transactions and record customer payments including cash, checks, and credit cards Maintain and update receivable records by summing up unpaid invoices Verify the validity of account discrepancies by gathering and scrutinizing relevant information Address valid or authorized deductions by making necessary adjusting entries Handle unauthorized or invalid deductions by adhering to the procedures for pending deductions Manage collections by reviewing customer payment plans, past payment history, and credit lines in coordination with the billing department Safeguard the organization's value by ensuring the confidentiality of information Pursue self-improvement opportunities to enhance job knowledge Contribute to the accounting and organization mission by delivering necessary results Utilize SAP and other relevant tools in performing tasks related to collections and credit collections. Requirements Proven experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role in the Security industry. Strong knowledge and understanding of collections processes, specifically in commercial collections. Demonstrable experience in credit collections, including negotiation and resolution of complex collections issues. Proficiency in SAP, particularly as it applies to collections and credit management. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and internal teams. Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively. High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all collections activities. Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and customer focus in high-pressure situations. Solid understanding of relevant legal requirements and best practices in collections. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify financial discrepancies and resolve accounts issues.
