Health and Well-Being Summer Non-Clinical Intern

This Summer Intern will work with the team of registered dietitians to bring forward the Food Is Medicine platform/strategy for both preventative and treatment measures. Assist with program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Attend daily meetings and collaborate with team. Actively participate in scopes of nutrition work that include but are not limited to food insecurity/food access, chronic disease/lifestyle medicine, and youth & family. Assist Community Nutrition Supervisor and team with tasks such as recipe library, update education materials (which may include supporting efforts to build an electronic library of nutrition resources), and the integration of scopes of work into the Food Is Medicine platform/strategy. Throughout this internship position, several projects will be expected. This internship position will build an electronic library of nutrition resources and host tastings at the HEAL farm market. All community well-being interns will work on a group project (to be determined). For this Summer Internship Position, we are looking for a student with excellent communication skills (previous experience with public speaking is preferred); direct work with the public (previous experience working with vulnerable populations preferred); self-motivated/comfortable taking initiative; familiarity with HIPAA/patient privacy & confidentiality; prior experience with website development is a plus (for electronic library of nutrition resources project) This internship will be expected to work the 24-40 hours per week. The required days of the week: Mon-Fri typically 8:00-4:30; occasional evenings and weekends; 40 hours per week; first shift. The specific programs or areas of study that is believe best fit this internship, is someone with a background in Nutrition or Dietetics. Must be a current undergraduate college student or graduate college student. Specific educational focus or degree may be preferred depending on the hosting department of internship. Specific license and/or certification may be preferred depending on the hosting department of internship. GPA of 3.0 or above Submission of Cover Letter Resume and Letter of Recommendation. Other qualifications may vary by department of internship.
