Top ESL company in China is currently hiring native North American/UK English speakers to teach (speak!) English to Chinese children.
Starting base pay of at least $18-22/hour plus $12/hr bonus peak-time incentive for classes taught on weekends means you can be earning $30-34/hr immediate starting pay! In addition to the hourly rate + peak-time bonus paid for each class you teach, you can also earn up to a $450 monthly participation bonus if you teach a large number of classes each month.
To qualify for consideration, our company requires you to have a TESOL/TEFL certificate. If you don't have a TESOL yet, they're not terribly difficult, expensive, nor time-consuming to obtain. A note on work experience: If you think you don't qualify for lack of clearly-defined, professional teaching experience on your CV, take a moment to reflect on your professional and personal life and all the times you've helped other people learn something, maybe on the job or perhaps in the home, and focus on these. For instance, if you're a parent, you're definitely a teacher, but it may take a bit of reflection in order to define and capture those qualities and competencies on your CV. What is important is finding people with the requisite skill set, not necessarily previous work experience, to cultivate and train on our program platform. We recognize this is a new and rapidly growing industry and as such there are many successful applicants who have never taught English online or even locally ever before. And, remember, if you're a native English speaker from North America or the UK, you're already an expert in the field of English language fluency, phonics, and pronunciation!
Additional information:
The peak hour windows are as follows, listed in Central Standard Time (CST). You choose what times you want the company to give you classes by opening up availability in 1-hour increments within these peak teaching windows. The minimum is 8 hours (classes) a week within these times.
Monday through Thursday: 5am-9am
Friday: 5am-9am, 8pm-10pm
Saturday: 4am-9am, 8pm-10pm
Sunday: 4am-9am
You will enjoy a steady and predictable income and schedule because once students sign up they commit to a large block of classes. After a successful trial class, you will teach the same children each week using fun and interactive course materials provided by the company for several months at a time.
The classes themselves are from 50-60 minutes each (you're paid for the full hour regardless) with a maximum of two students per class. This is great because you won't be frantically rushing out of one class into the next and speeding through material every half an hour. No, hour-long classes give you the opportunity to relax and really settle into the lesson courseware with the children and furnish ample opportunity to customize and tailor the lesson to each of the two students' needs. Longer classes also mean more efficient income, as you won't be getting random 30-minute class bookings spaced 90 minutes apart, like with some other companies.
Teaching only two students per class means you will be able to manage the class more effectively and give more sincere and personalized attention to each student throughout the lesson, while still benefiting from a positive peer-learning dynamic. This arrangement is much less distracting for both the teacher and students than when there are four children in the classroom, as is the case with many online teaching companies.
