Director of Purchasing

David Weekley Homes is seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Purchasing to lead our Indianapolis Division Purchasing and Design Center Teams. This high-impact role is central to delivering exceptional homes on time, on budget, and at the highest quality.The ideal candidate will combine operational expertise, leadership excellence, and a deep understanding of construction purchasing to drive cost efficiency, strengthen vendor partnerships, and enhance our competitive position in the market. Collaboration with Regional and National Teams will be key to achieving consistent, scalable results that support David Weekley Homes’ growth and success.Job Responsibilities:Lead, hire, and develop Division Purchasing and Design Center Teams while promoting growth and engagementOversee hard cost budgets, proformas, and feasibility studies to support land acquisition and community developmentDirect bidding, cost analysis, and vendor negotiations to maintain a competitive market positionBuild and manage relationships with Preferred Partners to ensure capacity, quality, and timely delivery of labor and materials.Collaborate with Regional and National Teams on sourcing strategies, scopes of work, and product offeringsPartner with Division Operations and Design Center Teams to ensure quality, consistency, and customer satisfactionProvide financial oversight, including forecasting, accruals, and cost monitoring for all communities
